HARRIET GILLETT
Artist Profile
Harriet Gillett has created two limited edition prints with Ellipsis Prints which relate to two of her most loved watercolour paintings. Harriet works from sketches made from life, capturing the memory of experiences, communities and atmospheres in her rich and vibrant painting practice. She takes inspiration from literature to create these evocative scenes, having a particular interest in writers who question the assumed neutrality of language. Her illusive paintings capture a fluidity and ambiguity that suggests multiple perspectives and narratives, recalling the way stories shift as they are retold. Harriet Gillett received her MFA in Fine Art from City & Guilds of London Art School in 2022. She was shortlisted for the Ingram prize in 2020 and is one of the 2023 New Contemporaries.
