Lucy Whitford

Artist Profile

Lucy Whitford has created two limited edition prints entitled ‘Her Palms’ and ‘Alcea’. Whitford works with both natural and man-made materials, creating fragile, organic forms. She seeks out materials for their intrinsic properties and cultural histories, weaving them together to explore the way they resonate with lived experience. Clay is juxtaposed with items from domestic interiors like cane webbing and curtain lining and more industrial substances. Her work hints at the profound subject matter of loss and longing, rooted in an internal narrative and mythology. Lucy Whitford is a graduate of Chelsea College of Art (MA 2012 with distinction).
