QIAN QIAN

Artist Profile

Qian Qian has created a two limited edition prints with Ellipsis Prints called ‘Primordial Fusion’ and ‘Embryo’. With an interest in articulation through language, in misunderstanding and the challenges of translation, her work draws inspiration from a myriad of sources. She takes her starting point from places as diverse as mythologies and folklore, Newtonian and quantum physics, ancient theological studies and philosophical investigations. Working primarily through the medium of paper and ink, her work expands into social practice and interactive installation as well as painting.
Qian Qian graduated in 2018 with an MFA Fine Art at Goldsmiths College, University of London. She is the recipient of the 2023 Mother Art Prize Online Award and was shortlisted for FBA Futures in 2019.
