Artist Profile

Valerie Savchits has created two limited edition prints with Ellipsis Prints. Her work ‘I Say No’ is intended as a reminder that we always have the right to refuse. ‘We Are Here. We Will Be Seen.’ is a print created to promote the visibility and representation of women and non-binary artists. Valerie Savchits is a multidisciplinary artist, born in Riga, Latvia. She works across painting, installation and sculpture stringing together stories, feelings and fragments of memory to create her own mythological system. Slavic mythology and archetypal narratives play an important role in forming her visual language but she often seeks to destabilise the cultural stereotypes that feed into her work. Savchits completed her BA studies at the University of Salford in 2016 and is currently studying for an MA in Fine Art at the University of Brighton.
