May Hands
Artist Profile
May Hands has created two limited edition prints ‘Scattered Objects’ and ‘Arranged Objects’ that feature familiar pieces of everyday urban detritus collected from the street. In her wider practice Hands also appropriates urban leftovers to reflect on her surrounding environment. Natural and man-made objects are brought together into assemblages and installations that play on the characteristics and cultural associations of her discoveries. Her work embraces chance and mistake as she pushes materials to their limits. May Hands gained her MFA in Fine Art at Goldsmiths College, London in 2020. She was awarded a BA (hons) in Painting from Camberwell College of Art in 2013.
